What I love about Pro Wrestling

I was watching a video clip in the Newsroom and was asked by a passerby if I "liked wrestling." The obvious answer was yes. He then asked me if I thought it was real. I just kinda laughed and said, "that's not the point."

In any medium you are going to get things you can't find anywhere else, and that's true for sports as much as it is for sitcoms and comics. In wrestling, you get unique characters performing physical feats that, if not properly executed, can severely injur a human being. They have to keep their mind on this physicality and very real live competition while telling a sotry and protraying characters.

I could try to go on and on about what's good about wrestling, but nobody would want to listen who's not already a fan (I often hit the same wall with comics.) Instead I'll present a good example of what wrestlers can do with the aforementioned ingredients, within the confines of Youtube's roughly 10-minute limit.

The story is incredibly straightforward. Delirious (in the mask) is an insane person who screams in tongues and runs wildly around the ring, especially when the bell is sounded. Nigel McGuinness (in the spiky hair) is a cocky young British guy with a championship belt and a tendancy to cheat. 'Nuff said.
